Enterprise Holdings has an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Design Specialist in the Corporate Airport Construction Department. The Architectural Design Specialist will perform a wide variety of drafting duties that utilize Computer-Aided Design/Drafting (CAD) and Revit tools in developing graphical, architectural, and drafting designs design. This position will also partner with outside Architect/Engineer partners and is expected to exercise extensive judgment and initiative in the execution of their responsibilities with a primary goal to improve efficiency and decrease fees paid to outside consultants. This role will create the budget, and manage the construction, roll-out and custom project initiatives for small to mid-level projects.

This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO.

  • Direct the design, create the budget, and manage the construction for small to mid-level projects. These projects are generally alterations to existing facilities, which can take up to 2 years with a potential budget of $1 million or more

  • Act as the primary contact for roll-outs and custom project initiatives

  • Collaborate with Construction Project Managers to develop schematic designs in AutoCAD and/or Revit.

  • Drawings may include site plans, building plans, elevations, typical section details, etc.

  • Create a library of AutoCAD and Revit typical drawing details, smart blocks, and database information

  • Develop and provide drawings directly to outside partner firms that can be incorporated into the final construction document set with the primary goal to improve efficiency and decrease fees

  • Understand preliminary facility program information/intent and translate that information into a plan

  • Evaluate existing condition surveys, existing plans, site photos, and/or aerial photos to generate accurate schematic site plans

  • Edit drawings (QA/QC) received from outside firms for use in final construction documents

  • Complete special drawing project requests; ( preliminary drafts of projects, typical detail drawings, presentation-level graphical representations, and detailed record dat)

  • Organize and maintain company construction specification documents

  • Conduct facility programming, space usage, and traffic flow analyses to determine and recommend options for the best facility size and layout

  • Perform regular computer software and AutoCAD troubleshooting and training seminars

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with outside A/E firms and vendors

  • Maintain up to date working and technical knowledge of all procedural and improvement changes to computer hardware and software applications

  • Application of general knowledge of current codes, regulatory standards, and sustainability measures governing various jurisdictions

Minimum Qualification:

  • Associate's Degree in design or related field required

  • Three (3) years of CAD drafting and BIM modeling required

  • Advanced level of proficiency with AutoCAD required

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Revit required

  • SketchUp experience is a plus

  • Previous experience with graphic design required

  • Previous experience with parking lot, fueling/maintenance, and retail IT design projects preferred

  • Project management experience preferred

  • Understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing), Structural, and Civil designs/standards required

  • Building materials and interior design experience preferred

  • Basic proficiency level with Microsoft Office products

  • Previous experience on the “Owner” side of the contract relationship preferred

  • Valid Driver's License with no alcohol or drug related event within the last 5 years and no more than 3 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents within the last 3 years

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

Qualified candidates must also possess the following:

  • Skill in updating, maintaining, operating, and evaluating all AutoCAD and Revit software and related equipment

  • Strong ability to build rapport across all levels of the organization and with outside vendors

  • Ability to manage/juggle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently and effectively to upper-management and municipalities

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working independently or in a team

  • Complete knowledge and understanding of company’s principles, policies, procedures and standards

  • Ability to apply experience based knowledge and leadership skills toward organizational goals

  • Strong sense of initiative, requiring little direct supervision

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to make decisions toward the objective of satisfying all brands
