As an Engineer 1, Software on the ARMS Product team, you will work on Automated Rental Management System (ARMS®) web applications that manage rentals for insurance companies, dealerships and fleet companies. You will be part of a team responsible for all phases of an agile-like software development lifecycle.
As an Engineer 1, you will be responsible for developing, modifying and implementing elements of technology to solve business problems. As an Engineer 1, you will have the opportunity to assist in the design. You will work with a team to test, research and investigate technology and assist with the requirements gathering of the solutions. We are looking for a self-starter that will maintain established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards. Key areas of responsibility will include:
Individual contributor performing both application design and coding
Consistently analyze, translate, re-factor, and code software applications per specifications provided by Software Architects/ Leads
Develop and maintain automated unit tests that improve software quality
Participate in design and code reviews
Review, analyze and implement business requirements on assigned projects
Maintain documentation on application modifications and updates
Participate in IT security and compliance remediation activities
Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
1+ years of Java development (can include coursework and/or project development)
Experience with OR knowledge of web page development using HTML, CSS, JQuery, and Java Script
Strong teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Experience working in Agile methodology and JIRA
Experience in SOA, WebLogic and Tomcat
Experience using frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
