Business growth is driving the need to add high-level network engineer skillset to the IT team. This unique position is an exciting new opportunity to develop, implement, and mature the network and technology footprint that will help take EFM to the next level. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working on LAN/WAN/WiFi/Cloud network infrastructures. The primary focus for this role will be network infrastructure engineering which supports all data and cybersecurity of the EFM network.

As an Engineer 3 you will use your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. You will serve as a subject matter expert in your area of focus and represent the department on complex assignments. You will evaluate elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased stability and lower downtime.

In this role, you will work as a network solutions engineer in support of our Wide-Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and Cloud (Azure and AWS). Typical technologies include IP routing, VLANs, switching, load balancing, Firewall, VPN, WAF, WAN access, Voice over IP, and wireless technologies across a variety of network platforms.

This opportunity will be remote with the opportunity to work at our office located at 2281 Ball Drive, Maryland Heights, MO 63146 on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, design and modify elements of our technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and making recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness

  • Create and maintain documentation for elements of our technology and provide instruction and guidance to other members of the team

  • Listen to and evaluate Network Solutions’ customer needs to determine expectations and needs and provide solutions that align with them

  • Monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures

  • Protect our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and daily job responsibilities; following security policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must currently reside in the St. Louis Metropolitan area

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience

  • Must be committed to mitigating cybersecurity risks in all decisions and daily job responsibilities

  • 5+ years’ of Network Engineering experience

  • Must have previous experience with:

  • Configuring/administering LAN/WAN/MAN communications and network hardware such as routers, switches, VPN, firewalls, and load-balancers

  • Configuring routing protocols and BGP

  • Documenting Network design using Visio-like tools

  • Must have proven experience in routing and switching in large, complex, high-availability networks

  • Must have recent network design experience or strong network configuration experience

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • Participate in on-call rotation and perform evening and weekend maintenance

  • Must have the ability to meet all work from home technical requirements

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with:

  • Palo Alto Panorama and Prisma

  • Meraki WiFi and Switching

  • Radware LB and WAF

  • Decoding packet captures with Wireshark

  • Testing and analyzing software releases impact to network security CVEs

  • QoS design, loadbalancing, and data routing

  • Monitoring/alerting tools like SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, ExtraHop

  • Cloud infrastructure enviornments like Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Transit Gateways, WAF and Firewalls in AWS and Azure

  • CCNA and/or CCNP certifications with Collaboration

  • CCDA and/or CCDP certifications with Collaboration

Work from Home (WFH) Requirements:

  • Must have reliable and consistent high-speed internet access provided by a terrestrial cable or fiber provider (no DSL or satellite)

  • High-speed Internet connection with a minimum validated upload speed of 5Mb and download speed of 25Mb is required. Connection latency must be less than 100ms. (Please validate using a speed test tool such as http://www.speedtest.net/ )
