The Vehicle Management team supports the entire Fleet Lifecycle from Fleet Planning and Acquisition, to Rental Operations, to the Sales Teams that chooses the Remarketing Wholesale Channel or the Retail Sales Channel to obtain the maximum return on our vehicle investment. We also support all other business lines, including Daily Rental, Car Share, Rideshare, and the Leasing Division.

As a Lead Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Vehicle Management team to lead quality assurance efforts. You will assess and evaluate quality assurance test requirements to determine the scope of the functionality to be covered by testing. You will be responsible for designing, producing, executing, and maintaining software test plans and manual test scripts. You will test software solutions while documenting, tracking, and reporting on defects. You will utilize your critical thinking skills by analyzing test results and leverage your trouble shooting skills to assist with defining root cause. As a Lead Test Engineer, you will leverage your leadership skills by providing instruction and guidance to less senior team members on better processes, tasks and assignments.

Key areas of Responsibilities

  • Work closely with developers, architects and other team members to ensure overall quality of solutions

  • Participate in daily standups/status meetings and contribute to the completion of the release by driving the quality assurance process and product validation through manual testing

  • Define test plans, test scenarios and manual test scripts, as well as utilize industry standard testing tools for functional and regression testing

  • Provide estimates for the scope of work for both time and required resources needed to perform the testing

  • Mentor and guide team members on processes, techniques and technologies

  • Ensure the timely delivery of testing milestones

  • Test the products, measure test coverage, compile test metrics, conduct test reviews and provide test status

  • Expand testing coverage by assisting the automation team with identifying tests for the automated test suite

  • Drive the invention and adoption of tools, techniques and advanced test methodologies

  • Looks for opportunities to improve test execution and delivery

  • Proactively seeks to understand dependencies between solutions across the organization

  • Promptly communicate risk to application development and testing teams

  • Function independently and in a team environment to overcome ambiguity and deliver results

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • 5+ years’ experience in software testing including identifying required testing, developing test plans, performing analysis, documenting defects, status reporting, and compiling project metrics

  • Must have a strong understanding of testing both web and client based solutions that use web services

  • Must have experience creating SQL statements

  • Must have experience using industry-standard testing tools such as Zephyr, Selenium and SoapUI

  • Must have strong knowledge in software quality and testing methodologies

  • Must be able to focus at the strategic level to understand how the components of the application are related and at a tactical level to support the testing team

  • Must have experience in interacting and coordinating test activities among multiple teams

  • Must be able to effectively manage time and be productive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment

  • Must have excellent communication, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and projects

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar technical field

  • Experience testing on both web and mobile applications

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

  • Ability to work closely and effectively with developers in an agile environment
