The Vehicle Management development team is responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of business applications that support the buying, maintaining and selling of over 1.4 million vehicles annually. As a manager in the Car Sales division of Vehicle Management, you will be responsible for managing the Car Sales and Vehicle Inventory applications.

As a Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers, a business analysts, and a project manager through all phases of the software development lifecycle.

As a Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing operational, tactical, and strategic project and team activities

  • Estimating time, cost, and resources needed to complete projects and individual assignments

  • Leading team members in prioritizing and completing assigned project tasks

  • Collaborating with business partners on goals, priorities, status, and issues

  • Creating, enhancing, and maintaining processes that improve your team and potentially other department teams' effectiveness

  • Handling employee career planning, training, rewarding, disciplining, and performance reviews

  • Collaborating with other IT and business teams to identify and plan for resources needed to accomplish long-term goals

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • 2+ years of proven experience in project management

  • 2+ years of proven experience in gathering requirements from business users

  • 2+ years of proven experience in managing direct reports, to include developing strong performers, conducting performance and salary reviews, and providing career guidance and coaching

  • Proven experience managing direct reports within the application development space

  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams

  • Expert knowledge of all phases of the SDLC

  • Strong knowledge of process development and release management

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong personal management skills emphasizing time management, organization, and attention to detail

  • Strong multitasking skills

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred

  • Experience using a variety of Agile practices, to include stand-ups, pairing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, retrospectives, and whole-team approach

  • Experience using an Issue and Project Tracking tool, such as JIRA
