Enterprise Holdings Diesel Truck Technician - Harrisburg in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

$1000 sign-on bonus paid upon hire

Enterprise Holdings has an exciting opportunity for a Diesel Technician at our brand new HarrisburgTruck Service Center. The Diesek Truck Tech performs medium duty diesel truck mechanical and warranty repairs, as well as diagnose and troubleshoot drivability problems - minumal customer interaction involved!

This position offers hourly pay (not flat rate) of $29.70 - $33.70 / hour dependent upon Truck ASE certifications held - get paid for the time you work! Consistent schedule of 40 daytime hours per week – four-10 hour day or five-8 hour day shifts available. Diesel Techs will also receive $500 annual tool allowance .

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all warranty and mechanical repairs are completed according to the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines.

  • Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs.

  • Perform routine and annual DOT required repairs and inspections.

  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment.

  • Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.

  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles.

  • Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts.

  • Maintain vehicle repair history by documenting a Repair Order to accurately reflect steps taken and part(s) used during the repair.

  • Comply with part and inventory tracking procedures.

  • Utilize multiple manufacturers’ websites, software and diagnostic tools.

  • May process new fleet, LOFR, tires, fuel reclamation or buy-backs.

  • Participate in company and manufacturer approved training or other industry related training.

  • Maintain the work area in a safe, clean condition and comply with all uniform and equipment standards.

  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • High School Diploma / G.E.D. required

  • Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English

  • Must have at least one of the following:

  • Two years of automotive repair training at an accredited technical / trade school OR

  • A minimum of one year of repair experience in an automotive repair shop servicing current model vehicles

  • Must have Pennsylvania State Inspection license

  • Must have Pennsylvania State Emissions license

  • Must have a minimum of four (4) ASE certifications required in approved area of expertise.

  • Ownership of standard hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance on current vehicles

  • Must have a current and valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the past 3 years

  • No drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record within the past 3 years (DUI/DWI)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • Apart from religious observations, must be able to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week Monday - Friday

D.O.T. Requirements:

We are subject to certain Department of Transportation Regulations

  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be qualified to drive under D.O.T. regulations

  • Applicants will be required to submit an appropriate medical examiner's certificate, or submit to and successfully complete a D.O.T. medical examination
