ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Manager is responsible for optimizing the use of available technologies to deliver best in class business intelligence and analytical products to the organization. The Manager identifies new technologies to advance the maturity of the analytics practice, supports the adoption and training of new technologies while leading an effort to transition away from legacy technologies. The BI Solutions Manager oversees a team that supports the Data & Analytics department teams and Data Engineering (IT) to holistically address the needs of the analytics technology and practices serving the company.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Business Intelligence strategy, including making recommendations in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress

• Serve as a Change Management partner with the BI Teams and the various business stakeholders to gather efficient visualization requirements for analytical purposes

• Expand and implement the technical training programs for the BI teams:

• Coach and mentor BI professionals on data handling and visualization best practices

• Create, revise, enhance, approve, and deliver in-house training programs

• Manage and develop the Training Specialists who produce and support the training needs for the department

• Create consistent and frequent communication channels to the BI teams of new findings and/or technology updates

• Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to provide technical solutions involving in house technologies available, identify gaps in needed tools and recommend solutions

• Build and maintain a strong, collaborative partnership with the IT Data Engineering team, bringing a business perspective to the table during discussions

• Advise in the selection of the necessary tools to monitor and optimize BI solutions to meet performance and scalability requirements i.e., tuning opportunities, efficient data model builds, etc.

• Lead and/or serve as a consultant on various projects

• Provide coaching and guidance to the team to support their development and meet the department goals

• Communicate with senior management and other stakeholders to provide updates on BI initiatives, present insights and align BI efforts with business objects

• Oversee the support and inclusion of data governance, ensuring quality practices when creating business solutions

• Build expertise in new capabilities of the Microsoft Analytics platform to identify opportunities for the Enterprise environment

• Ensure proper application of the approved security framework across the BI portfolio

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative field

• 5+ years of recent experience using current organization platforms (in data warehousing, data visualization and data querying) will be considered in lieu of a degree as well.

• Must have 5 or more years of BI Development and/or Business Analysis experience

• Must have 5 or more years of experience with SQL, SAS, ETL and/or relational databases

• Must have 3 or more years of experience with SQL server and/or Azure platforms

Preferred:

• 3 or more years of experience as a Supervisor strongly preferred
