Rapid business growth is driving the need to add network and telephony skillsets to the IT team. This unique position is an exciting new opportunity to develop, implement, and mature the network and telecommunications technology footprint that will help take EFM to the next level. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working on a converged network infrastructure. The primary focus for this role will be network infrastructure which supports both data and voice.

As an Engineer 1, using your technical knowledge, you will be responsible for monitoring, implementing, modifying, and troubleshooting elements of technology. In addition, creating or updating support documentation. In some cases, you will open tickets with vendors and drive those problems to a solution. You will be part of a team that collaborates to support each other and other teams and technologies.

In this role, you will work with network solutions in support of our Wide-Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and Cloud (Azure and AWS). Typical technologies include IP routing, switching, load balancing, Firewall, VPN, WAF, WAN access, Voice over IP, and wireless technologies across a variety of network platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain network health by responding to network alerts and upgrading network components

  • Monitor our network ticket queue to process task requests which includes writing detailed changes to implement new or modifying existing configurations

  • Create and maintain operational documentation for elements of our technology

  • Collaborate with other teams to investigate or resolve outages

  • Monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures

  • Protect our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and daily job responsibilities, following security policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • Must be local to the St. Louis Area

  • Associates of Applied Science, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

  • Minimum 2 years of Network Engineering experience

  • Must have previous experience with:

  • Configuring/administering LAN/WAN communications and network hardware such as routers, switches, VPN, firewalls, and load-balancers

  • Documenting Network design using Visio-like tools

  • Create standard operating processes

  • Exposure to firewall policy

  • Troubleshooting Access, Distro, and Core layers

  • Must be willing to participate in on-call rotation and perform evening and weekend maintenance

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with:

  • Cisco switches (L3, L2), Catalyst and Nexus

  • Meraki switches and access-points

  • Radware or another load-balancer

  • Palo Alto Firewalls, VPNs.

  • Decoding packet captures with Wireshark

  • Testing and analyzing software releases impact to network security

  • Monitoring/alerting tools like SolarWinds or LogicMonitor

  • Cloud based Unified Communications environments

  • Configuring routing protocols OSPF and BGP on Cisco and Palo Alto

  • Configuring properties like PBR, ACL, VSL and SVI

  • Recent network design experience or network configuration experience

  • CCNA certification with Collaboration

  • CCDA certification with Collaboration
