Responsibilities

Car Sales is in the midst of an aggressive plan to grow 75% in five years which will result in over 225,000 annual sales and exceed 190 dealerships. The Car Sales Department Manager will lead the development and support of all IT solutions, such as the recently completed Accelerated Customer Experience, and be responsible for leading the IT effort to enable our systems to support dealership expansion across the US to further fuel Car Sales growth.

The Department Manager will lead a high performing agile team that is responsible for systems that support the daily operations of the groups, dealerships and corporate shared services. In alignment with our IT cloud migration strategy, this individual will be responsible for successfully migrating the Car Sales solutions to AWS. Additionally, in support of our API first approach this role will focus on establishing key APIs and connecting our vendor/partners to these new solutions. Car Sales also intends to enhance its online presence. This individual will partner with the Enterprise Digital team to ensure the new website interacts seamlessly with the solutions used in the dealerships.

The Department Manager will need to demonstrate the ability to balance and negotiate priorities and set expectations with senior business and IT leaders. Developing a deep understanding of our business processes and strategy across Enterprise and building strong relationships will be essential to success in this role. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • 8 or more years of related experience

  • Excellent relationship building skills

  • Proven ability to lead high performing teams with a record of delivering successful strategic initiatives and programs

  • Demonstrable success mentoring and developing IT professionals, to deliver on the team’s prioritizes and enable the employees to achieve their career goals

  • Awareness and understanding of concepts in development, and ability to challenge or foster ideas in development appropriately

  • Superb communication skills with the ability to engage an audience across a broad range of technical expertise and/or business acumen

  • Exceptional collaboration skills: works well with others as it relates to generating ideas

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend a broad array of initiatives to direct Project Scope, Requirements Gathering and Change Management to meet changing Business and IT objectives

  • Proven success and high comfort level with presenting at the executive level

  • Proficient knowledge of project management concepts, from planning and inception, through implementation and support

  • Commitment to protecting our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions; ensures security policy and procedure requirements are met; continuously identifies opportunities for improving security and implements strategies to improve our security posture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Prior experience with cloud-based applications and/or cloud transformations
