The IT Car Sales Department partners with our business and IT Teams to deliver technology solutions that support our retail Car Sales operations. Enterprise Car Sales operates approximately 150 dealerships throughout the United States.
We have several exciting initiatives in IT Car Sales. We have a significant strategic IT effort underway to migrate our business products to the cloud. This will enable the adoption of modern technology platforms and capabilities to support the continued growth of our Car Sales operations. We are also implementing our API First strategy, leveraging available API’s to streamline our connections to both internal and external products.
The IT Car Sales team has an immediate need for an Application Development Manager. We are looking for a strategic leader who is successful at being an integrator of people, processes and technology. As a Manager over the IT Car Sales team, it will be imperative for you to be a strong problem solver and effective consultant, while possessing a strong software design competency. You will be responsible for fostering a highly creative, innovative, solutions-oriented team environment.
Job responsibilities will include:
Provide direction to align solutions with strategic goals
Balance and manage operational and business concerns to ensure consistent delivery of quality products and services
Lead resource identification and planning to support business objectives
Employ an engaging and professional leadership approach built on collaboration, transformational leadership principles, and diversity and inclusivity
Develop the team using your experiences, at the same time developing yourself by learning from the team experiences
Collaborate with Architects—systems, software, network, and enterprise—to bring together various requirements into one solution; represents business requirements as they relate to architecture design and implementation
Lead the identification and documentation of core requirements; translate requirements into specific systems, applications, and process designs
Ensure the alignment of multiple solutions with one another as well as with business and IT tools, technologies, and goals
Recommendsolutions that reduce complexity of existing solutions and technology in the environment
Ensure all operational service level agreements (SLAs) are met and reported on regularly
Ensure high levels of external and internal customer service, technical expertise, productivity, efficiency and quality in staff performance
Lead incident management and response – including troubleshooting, resolution and root cause analysis/follow up efforts
Lead analysis of production issues – research and track any pervasive issues within our production solutions and work to resolution
Coordinate production release and maintenance schedules to identify and mitigate risk
Recommend changes to processes and technologies to improve support

The IT Manager – Car Sales position requires 6+ years of related experience
3+ years of experience managing and leading teams in an application development environment
Prior experience and success managing a team, including responsibility for performance management, team/ employee development, and hiring
Strong knowledge of all phases of the SDLC
Strong knowledge of SCRUM tools such as Jira or Confluence
Experience working in an Agile/Iterative development lifecycle
Must have experience developing individuals and driving alignment within a team
Must have a broad understanding of IT ecosystems and structure
Proven experience working across the IT organization to accomplish business objectives
Must have proven experience working with external vendors and service providers
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including good listening skills, influence, and leadership presence
Must have experience defining, developing, communicating, and implementing standards, processes, and procedures for the team in a collaborative and diverse environment
Must have experience determining scope of work, work prep and making work assignments in a fast paced, high-performance team
Must provide escalation assistance; recommend potential solutions to issues; follow established escalation procedures; resolve complex issues
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
3+ years of experience with the development of processes and metrics used in application development
