Responsibilities

We are seeking an innovative and results oriented full-stack lead engineer in our growing Risk Management area. This area is focused on the development of products and services for various stakeholders throughout the Claims Management lifecycle. Enterprise continuously strives to modernize our applications to keep pace with the competitive market, and Risk Management has upcoming projects to modernize applications. This is an exciting time to be part of Risk Management team.

As an Engineer 3 you will design, develop, and modify many different elements of technology within the Risk Management domain. You will be required to understand advanced methods, theories and research techniques that establish ongoing direction and implementation of the technology vision and strategy. The Engineer 3 will be expected to serve as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of technology and functionality that will represent the team in a positive manner within and outside of your department. You will be leading implementations and providing viable recommendations for implementing new solutions. Daily activities will include collaborating with Architects and recommending adjustments to the architecture to improve the overall quality and integration. You will be using a variety of Agile/Scrum practices and participate in daily stand-up meetings, planning meetings and review sessions, retrospectives. You will be supporting on-call rotations and production problem trouble shooting. You will also be required to monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures. You will be providing instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments; ensuring deadlines are met. In addition, you will be expected to mentor less senior team members for them to develop and advance their own careers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Experience with designing and implementing multi-tier applications using Java, J2EE, JDBC, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, CSS, Struts, Servlets, Spring

  • 5+ years of experience programming in Java

  • 5+ years of experience in an Oracle database environment and SQL

  • 3+ years of experience with Spring framework, Hibernate, and Struts 2

  • Experience with Tomcat application servers and Web Services (SOAP and RESTful)

  • Experience with Maven, Git and Jenkins or other continuous integration tools

  • Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment

  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle

  • Leadership skills in a team environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management and prioritizing skills

  • Must possess initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction

  • Must be flexible in the face of changing priorities and requirements

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

  • Experience with AWS or other Public Cloud environments, Cloud migration

  • Experience programming in modern UI frameworks, such as, React and Angular

  • Experience in Agile methodology and Atlassian tool set (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)

  • 3+ years of experience with RESTful Web Services

  • Experience with IDE tools such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
