We are seeking an innovative and results oriented Lead Software Engineer in the Automated Rental Management System (ARMS) area. This area is focused on brining additional value to our insurance partners through technology and innovative solutions. These solutions are focused on enhancing the customer’s experience, creating efficiencies, improving claims outcomes, and reducing loss adjustment expense. Enterprise continuously strives to modernize our applications to keep pace with the competitive market, and ARMS has upcoming projects to modernize applications. As a Lead Software Engineer on the ARMS API Marketplace team, you will design, develop, and modify many different elements of technology within the ARMS domain. You will be required to understand advanced methods, theories and research techniques that establish ongoing direction and implementation of the technology vision and strategy. You will be expected to serve as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of technology and functionality that will represent the team in a positive manner within and outside of your department. This position will require working with our API Office to define request-response interactions, domain models, and API specifications consistent with OpenAPI standards. You will be leading implementations and providing viable recommendations for implementing new solutions. Daily activities will include collaborating with Architects and recommending adjustments to the architecture to improve the overall quality and integration. You will be using a variety of Agile/Scrum practices and participate in daily stand-up meetings, planning meetings and review sessions, retrospectives. You will be supporting on-call rotations and production problem trouble shooting. You will also be required to monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures. This role will require you to have strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, which will enable you to research and fix issues. You will be providing instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments; ensuring deadlines are met. In addition, you will be expected to mentor less senior team members for them to develop and advance their own careers.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of experience programming in Java
3+ years of experience with Spring framework and Struts
2+ years of experience creating and implementing SQL
Experience with Tomcat application servers and Web Services (SOAP and RESTful)
Experience with source control management (Bitbucket/GIT experience preferred)
Experience with Maven, and Jenkins or other continuous integration tools
Knowledge of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
Experience in the full software development lifecycle and end-to-end testing.
Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Leadership skills in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
Must possess initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction
Must be flexible in the face of changing priorities and requirements
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Experience with Cloud technologies (MS Azure, AWS, Terraform) or other Public Cloud environments, Cloud migration
Experience in Agile methodology and Atlassian tool set (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
Experience with IDE tools such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
Experience with Postman
Experience with Dynatrace
