Enterprise Holdings Manager, Database Administration - Fleet Management IT in St. Louis, Missouri


The Information Technology (IT) department of Enterprise Fleet Management builds and implements powerful solutions that help to drive and support the operations of our Fleet Management business spread across the U.S. and Canada. Enterprise Fleet Management owns and operates more than 485,000 cars and trucks.

The IT Team supports a variety of applications that are financial and employee needs related. The different applications supported by this team include PeopleSoft Financials as well as proprietary applications. The various applications are on platforms including Java/Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server/.NET, AWS PostgreSQL, Oracle BI and Salesforce. EFM IT has an exciting opportunity for a Manager overseeing the Database Administration team and will oversee the development and progression of database infrastructure technologies! Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL technologies are integral to the daily operation of our business. In this position the Manager will have responsibility for directing a team of Database engineers focused on the development and implementation of new solutions to support our growing business. The Manager will partner closely with other infrastructure and application development teams to ensure that solutions being developed are supportable. The Database Engineering team is responsible for the full lifecycle of on premise and AWS based database technologies and the tools and processes used to implement and manage those platforms.


  • Managing the execution of operational, tactical, and strategic activities on a day-to-day basis

  • Determining time and resources needed to complete assignments and leading team members in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks and projects

  • People management activities including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary reviews

  • Developing and maintaining procedures that support team activities and leading individuals in adhering to and supporting team procedures/standards

  • Project management activities including creating work plans, assigning resources and meeting completion expectations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the US and will not require sponsorship now or in the future to work

  • 1+ years of experience successfully managing people including career planning/ support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance & salary reviews

  • Functional knowledge with Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL Databases

Preferred qualifications:

  • Functional knowledge of AWS database architectures

  • Experience managing or administering monitoring and alerting systems such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and Cloud Watch

  • Prior management experience with leading and developing a team of highly technical engineers

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent
