Responsibilities

We are seeking an innovative and results oriented full-stack lead engineer in our growing Risk Management area. This area is focused on the development of products and services for various stakeholders throughout the Claims Management lifecycle. Enterprise continuously strives to modernize our applications to keep pace with the competitive market, and Risk Management has upcoming projects to modernize applications. This is an exciting time to be part of Risk Management team.

As an Engineer 2, you will be responsible for development of applications to solve business, engineering, and scientific problems as well as the documentation and development of well-defined methods, procedures, and programs in the delivery of practical systems solutions. You should have experience with hands-on development. This includes detailed software design, developing code with unit tests and refactoring to implement the design, correcting flaws based on requirements testing, and integrating the applications. You will innovate and collaborate on technological strategies working with a team of experienced product owners, architects, leads, developers and business resources to build highly performing enterprise systems that improve business outcomes and increase staff productivity and financial performance. You will be using a variety of Agile/Scrum practices and participate in daily stand-up meetings, planning meetings and review sessions, pairing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, retrospectives. You will be supporting on-call rotations and production problem trouble shooting.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • 3+ years of experience programming in Java

  • 2+ years of experience in an Oracle database environment and SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with Spring, Hibernate, and Struts 2

  • 1+ years of experience with Tomcat application servers and Web Services (SOAP and RESTful)

  • 1+ years of experience using Maven, Git and Jenkins

  • 1+ years of experience working in a Unix/Linux environment

  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Must be flexible in the face of changing priorities and requirements

  • Must possess initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction

  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams

  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
