ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for innovating and providing solutions for our platform while developing new, and enhancing existing solutions. This position interacts not only with customers but also senior management to develop strategy relating to security, scalability, and stability of the platform. The Senior Engineer develops opportunities regarding emerging technologies and benefits company wide. This position influences and participates in company-wide initiatives with focus on the teams and the company.
Daily activities include collaborating with organizational Architects, Engineers, Security, etc. and recommending adjustments to the architecture, improving overall product quality and integration efficiencies in an Agile environment. Also, you’ll be required to monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures. An initial key focus will be Atlassian Solutions Engineering (Jira, Confluence, Trello, OpsGenie), in addition to workforce tooling (Email system, SaaS tools, patch management, field office network management, VPN, etc.), to help scale and optimize our business processes and project management infrastructure.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with job posting disclosure requirements in New York.
Pay Range: [$127,000-$158,800]
Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs. Depending on the position, compensation may also include bonuses.

Significant individual contributor performing global system design, coding, configuration, and testing
Responsible for global system automation of workforce tooling and configurations
Configure and designs global system tools integrations with other system applications
Evaluate, from an architectural and engineering level, new tools owned and/or supported by the Company Infrastructure and Applications (CIA) team
Create engineering strategy for successful deprecation of workforce tooling
Work with CloudOps, Enablement and other Software Development Engineers to assist in analyzing and resolving complex problems with our supported Entegral workforce tools
Participate in daily stand-ups, planning meetings and review sessions (using Scrum/Kanban/Agile methodologies)
Facilitate mob sessions, training and mentoring less experienced engineers
Provide operational guidance to support our global workforce tooling
Understand the business operations and processes on assigned projects
Work across product roadmap initiatives
Lead technical development expertise in system applications including design, coding, testing, deployment, system management, and tool integration
Listens to and evaluates customer needs to determine, provide, and identify high quality solutions that align with customer and/or company expectations
Leads the implementation, operation and/or maintenance of elements of technology
Work with various design and architectural patterns
Initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction
Resiliency in the face of changing priorities and requirements
Designs, develops and modifies elements of technology
Understands advanced methods, theories and research techniques that establish ongoing direction and implementation of the technology vision and strategy
Provides, develops and maintains documentation for elements of technology
Provides instruction and guidance to less senior team members on tasks and assignments; ensures deadlines are met

Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field of study preferred)
OR 8+ years of professional experience in system or application design and development at an enterprise level without a degree
5+ years of professional experience in system or application design and development at an enterprise level (post-graduate)
5+ years in administration of global SaaS systems
3+ years experience with system automation including integrations with Enterprise level applications
3+ years Enterprise level experience with Jira administration, governance and best practices for Project Management
5+ years experience in network design, firewall configurations, and global system tools
Has experience integrating Jira with external Enterprise systems such as HR, Incident Management, Messaging and Monitoring systems
Strong hands-on technical skills. Can drill deep into Jira workflows, and be able to design schema configurations and templates to optimize business processes when needed
Experience with APIs and designing solutions to leverage interfaces to build automation or capabilities such as dashboarding or monitoring
Automated test development and execution (for example, REST-assured, Selenium, etc)
Hands-on development experience in multiple technologies/platforms (Atlassian/JIRA, Gitlab, GCP, Azure, etc.)
Comfortable programming in languages such as Java, Spark, SQL, Python, node.js, golang or Scala
Experience creating and consuming Restful and/or SOAP API's
Experience developing on the Atlassian/JIRA platform in multiple medium to large enterprise environments
Ability to implement scripting based automation solutions and collaborate with other software engineers to provide comprehensive business solutions based on Jira
Experience in an Agile working environment
Jira Administration for Cloud Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
Experience creating applications in cloud-based and cloud native development environments (ex. Azure, AWS, Google, Kubernetes)
Experience developing and designing in a Microservice environment
Experience with application development processes (SDLC, Agile Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Solid understanding of web services and integrations using REST/SOAP/WSDL/XML and other vendor plugins
